Today we arrived in Edmonton. I was most excited to go shopping but Nik was excited to go see Zebras at the zoo. But my mom insisted on us going to go see the Great Divide Waterfall first. Before we went to the waterfall we stopped at our hotel to drop off our bags. The hotel we are staying at is the West Edmonton Mall Inn. I’m glad we were able to stay there because it was right across the road from the West Edmonton Mall. We went to The Pantry for breakfast. I got pancakes. After eating we went to the waterfall like planned.

BEAUTIFUL!

I even had the chance to talk to a local person there. She said that the city is turning off the waterfall to investigate options for operating the waterfall with de-chlorinated water. She also told me that it was made in 1980 and is 7 metres higher than Niagara Falls. But we had to leave the gorgeous sight of the falls and go to the Valley Zoo. We got to the zoo right around lunch time. We got to see a ton of animals! My favourite was the cute little spider Monkeys. Nik was going crazy because he actually got to see a real Zebra. I swear, he may be 17 but sometimes he acts like he is 6.

CUTE! :)
We also got to go to West Edmonton Mall for indoor skating. The indoor skating rink is called Ice Palace. And the rink was HUGE! I was not expecting it to be that big and still be INSIDE a mall! But we all had fun skating on the ice. Although as usual Nik pushed me down about 300 times, but other than that it was actually FUN!

Today was a very long day and we didn’t have time to do a whole lot in Edmonton. But I am actually excited for tomorrow, Shopping should be fun. And I can’t believe I’m going to say this but I’m actually having fun on My So Called ‘Fun’ Roadtrip Across Canada Family Vacation.

Today is day two in Edmonton, Alberta. I’m so excited that we are actually having time to go shopping. My mom said that we are even going to be able to go into the waterpark. I’m surprised that there can actually be a WATERPARK in a mall. Well I guess they already have an Ice rink so why not add a waterpark too. Before we even went to the waterpark we had to go for breakfast. We decided to go to Denny’s for breakfast. It was very delicious but I was not really paying attention to what I was eating because I just wanted to get to West Edmonton Mall.

When we finally arrived at the mall my jaw actually dropped. THE MALL IS HUGE!

↑ that is a picture of how big it is, and that is only level one! We went shopping at Aeropostale and Garage first. I got 6 shirts and 3 pairs of pants. But we actually did some shopping for my brother and mom too. My brother got a hat from West 49, and 2 t-shirts from Arlies. My mom went to Sears and got a couple pairs of shoes and pants. But we were tired from shopping so much and decided it was time for some ice cream. We found a Dairy Queen and chose to eat there. I had an Oreo Blizzard. We didn’t feel like doing anymore shopping so we headed over to the waterpark. The waterpark was crazy big. It had slides and a wave pool and even a BUNGEE JUMP! Which, of course I went on. It was so scary! I felt like I was actually falling and when I hit the ground SPLAT! But I ended up being okay. Actually, my mom and brother went on it. We left the World Waterpark and went to GalaxyLand. GalaxyLand is an indoor amusement park in the mall. I now know that the mall literally has EVERYTHING. By the time we got to the amusement park it was already 6:00pm so we didn’t have much time to do anything. The only thing we went on was the Mindbender. It is the world’s largest indoor rollercoaster. It was 14 storeys high! But I was starting to feel sick after that so we just decided to go out for dinner, then back to our hotel. We went out to Buffet World for dinner. Nik really liked that because it is all you can eat buffet. But tomorrow we are off to Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Hopefully that will be as fun as Edmonton. Goodnight bloggers :)

The car ride to Stratford, Ontario was extremely long. We arrived here at 11:30am. I slept the whole way here and was still exhausted. We found a restraint/bakery called ‘Let Them Eat Cake’. It sounded promising so we decided to check it out. I ordered the Stratford Scrambles. It was actually delicious and surprising that they serve eggs at a restraint called ‘Let Them Eat Cake’. After eating breakfast we went to our hotel. The hotel we stayed at was River Garden Inn. We even got a really nice room. It had twin beds and even a balcony! We didn’t have much time in our room because it took us so long to eat breakfast and we had to get to the Avon Theatre at 2:00pm. The show we decided to see at the Avon Theatre was Peter Pan. The show was 2 hours and 30 minutes long; we got out of the show at 4:30pm. The show was actually AMAZING! And we had the best seats in the house! But we had to quickly leave because we wanted to go to the Epicurean Trek before it closed. The Epicurean Trek is a farmers market. They sell jams, jellies, pickles and mustards. I bought a jar of strawberry jelly and a mixed berry fruit jam. After visiting the market we had to go to The Sun Room for dinner. I ordered the trout. I have never had trout before and it was great. After eating dinner we headed over to the South-western Ontario Open Fiddle Step dance competition at 6:00pm. The competitors were magnificent. I cannot even imagine playing a fiddle that good! But the competition was really long. I even fell asleep and missed them announce the winner. But I am still tired from the long car ride here. I’m going to get some rest because; tomorrow is day two inn Stratford, Ontario.

Today is day two in Stratford, Ontario. We all woke up late today. By the time I finally rolled out of bed it was already 11:30am. I wasn’t very hungry so I just grabbed a muffin from Tim Horton’s for breakfast. After that we decided to go to Huffmeyers Mill. It was established in 1906, so it kind of old. It was used to sell carpentry and lumber. They named the mill after Henry Huffmeyer. Later we left and went to art in the park. They had cartoon drawings where they draw a cartoon version of you with a big head and small body. My brother decided to get that done. I got face painting of a cat, which Nik did not like because he said I was “embarrassing him!” But I didn’t really care considering he probably doesn’t even know anybody in Stratford! We had to leave early because Nik was whining about being hungry because he had not eaten for 5 hours. We went to Pearl Sushi for dinner at 6:00pm because we had to go back to the hotel and get ready – I was not going to dinner with paint on my face. It was a typical boring dinner, yet very good. On the way out of the restraint we bumped into a little celebrity. Although I bet everyone heard him come in because when I saw him I screamed and almost fainted. And I got a picture with… JUSTIN BIEBER!

Plus I also got his autograph! We talked to Justin for a few minutes then unfortunately we had to leave and go to back to the hotel to get some sleep. In the morning we are heading out to Edmonton which means… Shopping! My mom said we will do one day exploring the city and another day shopping! I’m so excited! I can’t wait!

Day 1: Today we arrived in Halifax at 11:30am. The car ride here took about 4 hours. By the time we arrived my whole family was starving. We decided to go to Cora’s for an early lunch. After eating at Cora’s- which was amazing- we had it go to our hotel to check in. We are staying at the Citadel Halifax Hotel. We have the most expensive room, which I am surprised my mom let us get, the room is huge! After checking into our room we headed to the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site of Canada. We got a guided tour around the place and I actually learned a lot about the history of the citadel. For example, I learned that it was completed in 1856, and was constructed to defend against weapons during the war. The tour took 2 hours. By that time my brother was hungry and insisted on getting something to eat, so we went to the restaurant back at the hotel called Botanica. The food there was great. Once we finished dinner we went to the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo. The were only 33$ for students and I heard it was supposed to be the worlds biggest and best annual indoor entertainment extravaganza. The show was absolutely phenomenal! There was like 2000 performers from around the world doing stunts, acrobatics, dancing, singing, and a lot more! I hope I can see it again next year. Today was a long day, and I am going to get some rest. But tomorrow is going to be another great day in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Day 2 : Today is day 2 in Halifax. For breakfast we went to Botancia again. After eating breakfast my family and I went to Pier 21. We saw an exhibit there called A Day In May. The exhibit had pictures of immigrants coming to Canada. There were pictures of all the luggage the immigrants had to bring and also pictures of the people on the ship coming Pier 21. The one picture that stood out the most to me was the picture of the family at the immigration interview, looking scared and worried to see if they can stay in Canada. We didn’t stay long at Pier 21, instead we went to Historic Public Gardens. But while we were there my brother pushed me into a bee hive and I got stung only twice. But, the place was beautiful It was large with all different flowers and in the centre was a red gazebo. After seeing the Historic Public Gardens we went to Your Fathers Moustache for dinner. Turns out the only reason we ate there was because my brother liked the name. But, the food was good anyway. After eating dinner we went to a comedy show call the Yuk Yuks, which had Canadian stand-up comedians, the show was absolutely hilarious! My favourite part was when my brother started laughing and figured out that he got food poising from dinner - it wasn’t pretty-which is fine with me because he gave me 2 bee stings. But I am exhausted from laughing at the show. Tomorrow we are off to Stratford- that should be fun.
